I woke early on Saturday morning, no real change in routine there...

But I quickly texted Byron and asked if I could come along for the

ride to the beach. As I knew he was going to test out his new

"Pocket Rocket".

I took advantage of my free time and practiced my Tai Chi,
rode the local skatepark and took a little sun...

Whilst Byron and Wes charged the summer waves
at the local break at Rockaway's. You can just
make out the two of them in this shot.

I also played around with the camera on my I-Phone.

The cross-process app gives the photos a nice vintage look.

We were all done by 9:30am!

Just in time to head back for my usual Daddy duties with O&O.

Lots of people go away early next week.

So we had to rush to get the Thanks Giving issue of R.A.D out this week.

I really love this weeks illustrations...

They hint at the somewhat unsettled begins of this festive tradition.

My favorite is the poster.
Which also doubles as a place-mat for next weeks feast!
The elements were inspired by the
Jean Leon Gerome Ferris painting "The First Thanksgiving".

Thankfully we have two weeks to come up with the next issue

which promises to be a real splash!

I have been bit slack on keeping Privatewerken updated over the last two weeks. But I have a good excuse I have been very busy working with Byron on a small kids art project called R.A.D.

Byron has put together the temporary website and is keeping me on track with schedule. We plan on handing out copies of the 1st issue on Sunday during the Halloween Parade on the Northside. We will also be attending the opening of a new kids play spot Klub 4 Kidz so drop by if your in the neighborhood and grab a copy. It's still very early days at the moment but it been really exciting and I can't wait to see how the next issue shapes up.

Next week is market, I spent the later part of this week setting it up and helping out with getting the rest of the showroom ready.

I have been working on our Disney license for the last 6 months.

I really love this "Wing" tote the art is appliqued, the side panels are sequin covered and the bottom panel has large dome studs...

This is a selection of my Parcel "Photorealism" group, heat-transfer printed into matte nylon with metallic nylon ripstop body material. Passport cases and snooze masks...

The Muppets are also part of our Disney License, I enjoyed working on this group.

This is one of my favorite items, the Kermit mens Tri-fold wallet.

I created water-color backgrounds for this Disney Couture group, the Snow White crossbody/Clutch has a dark Evil Queen inspired feel and the lazercut Lucite dangles really add a extra "Story telling" element.

The Mickey & Minnie "Bow" clutch is another fun item, the sequins are all hand sewn.

I hope it all goes over well next week with the buyers.

I separated Robo-Skull and the blocks these would also be cool as stand alone decals. Robo-Skull could be 4ft high and the blocks could be 2-3ft high placed so that look like they are standing on the floor. The porthole would be cool to draw on in chalk you could create your own underwater scene...Nemo?!

Art ASSEMBLY DAY 2 - Purple Haze

We started the day in the big hall checking out some cool projections...

It was pretty amazing we all got to try out making the animals move my head became the bushes in this shot...

Later that morning we moved to the art room where the real fun started...

I had mad fun mixing mostly red and blue to make an amazing "deep" purple...

I felt like an ancient Celt or Gaul with my war paint on. We then all marched off triumphantly to conquer new and exciting lands...

Some of us left more of a permanent mark in history...

I could be heard yelled "Leche, Leche!!!" from my mountain top camp, as the great day neared an end.

Art ASSEMBLY

Last week we had fun in the Art Assembly held by the Starfish's I tried my hand at some collage with glue and feathers it was sticky stuff!

As you can see I knew what I was doing, my assistants helped prep the feathers whilst I worked on the composition...

After the art we played in the gym, here I am practicing my hula hula technique, some of the girls got a bit jealous of my style...Hey hands off!

We had a wonderful day yesterday at Bethzaira's baby shower, Zack arranged it to be held at our favorite restaurant Il Baggato. The weather was beautiful and the company was great we could not have asked for more.

Francine baked a delicious cake which we all devoured, Bethzaira took the remains home to eat at her leisure this week, lucky thing!

The kids had a great time, even Oliver came out of his fowl mood to play and gave everyone the ride of their life on Julio's Harley!

IF - Propagate "Idea's Feed me"

I worked on this last Friday, didn't have time to finish coloring it up but I actually like it as it is in retrospect.

The topic was propagate, they had quote, I forget from who but it mentioned that "men need water, like plants to propagate..." or something to that affect. I liked the idea of being feed to multiply or feed ideas and this is what I came up with...
