I had a mellow day today and worked on some packaging for my Prêt-à-Voyage group.

Here's a little intro into the group I typed up earlier:

DISNEY NOIR

I worked in the showroom today on the blackboard. It was a welcome change from sitting at my desk working on specs.

The board is ready for the new samples from my Disney Noir group. This seasons theme was black and white, I bold move for us and Disney.

So in keeping with the theme and freshly inspired by my trip to see Mickey last week, I pasted black and white Mickey comic strips onto the board and hand drew Mickey from "Runaway Brain" the Academy Award nominated animated short.

Bucket BOY!

We had wonderfully sunny weekend out in the country with Matthew and Zack.
The Spring colors and green green grass were a sight for sore eyes.

Oliver loved the outdoor lifestyle and gradually stripped down into his Birthday suit for an afternoon dip in his new favorite, a water filled bucket!

DISNEY TEA PARTY

I hope you all had a fun but busy week, I did.

I was in LA on Tuesday for a day barely long enough to get a tan. I was there for a Disney Summit, they invited Loop to a sneak peek at all new Alice movie. Tim Burton has worked his magic and reinvented Wonderland as the "Underworld" with a dark mysterious look and feel.

It was a fun day, I drove from LAX to Glendale which was cool. I had a GPS which verbally nudged me in the right direction to Mickey's house.

It was all top secret so no camera or recording equipment were allowed in the summit but did manage to sneak a few shots of the "Tea party" table they had made...

I flew back to NY that night arriving at 6:45am, thankfully I had the day to recover and rest.

PARKLIFE

We had a beautiful day out in McCarren Park yesterday. Oliver took a nice long nap before Julian, Giacomo and Francine met up with us. Oliver had a classic Parr moment of nervousness but soon warmed up after his oatmeal and milk snack. Julian didn't have his spikes with him so he resisted a 100m sprint but opted for a quick stretch and crawl on the running track. Feeling quite thirsty ourselves we headed over to a bar on N7th for some early evening drinks.






The weather was great warm and sunny, Oliver was on his best behavior and played contently in his stroller and people watched. After a full day of fresh air and socializing he crashed out as we headed home for a quiet dinner.

LIFES A BEACH

Wow, a week has flown by without making any entries on the old blog. So here are some photo's of the painting(s) I started last week. It's a rework of one of my Illustration Friday submissions (IF Opinion).

I really like the golden sunset background but want to work some color into the dude. The small square pink painting will accompany it's golden buddy on the wall but I have yet to decide what to draw on it. I had originally planned drawing the V'dub from my original IF sketch and that's why I chose to use an 80's pink to offset the golden sunset...(CLICK ON IMAGES FOR A DETAILED VIEW)

Anyway the weather here in New Squawk is beautiful today it will be in the upper 60's to 70˚'s by the end of the day, YES!!!

Oliver has a bit of a wheezy cough at the moment but thankfully it doesn't seem to be making any difference to him.

He's as happy as ever roaming around in his walker finding things to chew on!

It's a great short film/animation shot right here in NY the melting pot. It features real New Yorkers voices but their faces have been replaced by the wonderfully everyday objects found on NY streets. I love the phone box's voice "he so macho!!!" hah Hah HA!
