LET'S HANG...

I worked on a little something for IFN today, after visiting a lot of galleries and museums with my folks last week I really want to keep up the creative juices.

This weeks topic was Hang me Up to Dry, here's a sneak peak at my submission. For a full view go to:

MOMA MONDAY - DESIGN AND THE ELASTIC MIND

I took the Monday off to "Hang" with the Familia, we went uptown to join the hordes visiting the Moma. They have a great exhibition on called "Design and the Elastic Mind" with some amazing pieces of art mixing the latest design and technology.

I loved the "Shadow Monsters" room were your shadow miraculously morphed and grew with your movements. Kids and adults alike were going crazy playing with their monstrous shadows.

My Dad and I also were perplexed at how these two Swedish designers had designed a way of mapping drawings into a computer that then transformed their sketches into 3D furniture...totally amazing Ja!

The Moma is definitely one of my favorite NY museums it houses some of the most contemporary art and design with some of the most classical. A perfect way to spend a well earned day off.

HELL YES!

Easter Sunday we visited the latest edition to the Downtown contemporary galleries, The New Museum on the Bowery. The work was mediocre but the building itself was really cool.

I especially like the "Rainbow Bright/Hello Kitty" sign outside...

SATURDAY NIGHT FEEDER!

We finished the day at Juliette, the French bistro on North 6th before Byron and I headed back into the city for a cocktail party in Tribecca at Julio & Beatrix's to celebrate Gabriel's Birthday.

It was a full on, no expenses spared "do" with fresh crab and lobsters flown in from Miami, champagne, caviar and my personal favorite B's homemade margarita's.

I love Julio and B's place they have a wonder loft and there bedroom is full of great shot's of the two of them. If we can manage to be as happy and in love as they are in twenty years time I don't think we'll have anything to complain about...

EASTER SATURDAY

We had a action packed Saturday, Byron arrived first thing from JFK with the old school Bones board I had asked him to pick up from Skates on Haight! After taping up my new board we devoured a full English before heading over to the Northside to join the hoards of hipsters perusing local design boutiques.

The park on North 8th was good if not a little blustery, so we warmed ourselves up with some giant beers in Radagast Hall. As you can see my Mum in fine form and was downing them like no ones business!

GOOD GOOD FRIDAY

Had a delightfully windy day on the city, JC appeared in our local neighborhood! I especially liked the Roman centurions in their Northface and leather biker jacket with his breasts plate hanging over their bellies.

We headed over to Chelsea to checkout some of the galleries, most of which were not up to much! But the Arario gallery had a great show from Korean artist Hyungkoo Lee entitled "Animatuseum" with his realistic reconstructions of Looney Tunes characters like Wylie Coyote (Canis Latrans Animarus) & Roadrunner (Geococcyx Animatus).

My favorites were Tom & Jerry...

We had a deliciously groovy late lunch at Pastis and then did a bit of window shopping on 14th St. I think the staff in Alexander McQueen were quite taken by the miniature Asian lady and her extensive background knowledge of McQueen's passion for tailoring and CSM schooling!

GOLDEN DAYZ

My Dad has been scanning some old slides from days gone by this weekend. These were four that "fell" out of the box! I especially like Matthew's chocolate covered cheeks and Byron's Trophy collection (I will be testing you on your scriptures later!) and Hannah what a delightful dress, your interlaced fingers give you a look of serene contemplation!

Have a great week!!!

DADDY PACK

We have some wonderful news, Bethzaira is pregnant! She's now in week 16 and we are both very excited at the prospect of becoming new parents. We have known since the New Year but have been waiting to make sure everything is OK before making a formal announcement.

I'm very much looking forward to doing some hands on testing of my new group MOD-maternity, here's a shot of me testing the Daddy Pack!

Have a groovy week kids.

TEQUILLA SUNSET

Phew, we made it! The wall was done by 5pm, we started work on the back black board ready for the new License Waterever it takes. Michael bought us beers and a bottle of Tequilla to celebrate getting the wall done and help with dressing it with the product. This made for an interesting end to a long week and I'm really pleased with the end result well done gang!

Happy Mothers day in the UK!

SHOWROOM SHOWDOWN

This week we reworked the Showroom Loop wall mural. I worked up a collage of our work into a montage to Loop. I especially like my homage to Mr Boots!

This is how it looked after day one...
