Last night I went to the Avenue A Skateboard Art Show. Some of the decks were cool others weren’t worth the wood they were painted on but I still enjoyed the 2-1 beers and the “Wheels of Fire” Santa Cruz sk8 video they had playing on the TV screens. I had not seen that video for ages, featuring Natas Corpus, Rob Roskoff, Steve Salba and Christian Hosi at Raging Waters ramp in San Jose, (No longer there R.I.P.).
I will be submitting my entry for the next show in October...
Have a Radical Labor Day weekend!

I got quite a bit done today, I renewed my drivers license at the local Express DMV, it wasn't that "express" but what the F I finally got it sorted! I also received word from my good friend Julio at Il Bagatto that the T’s I had designed and ordered for him arrived today after only placing the order on Tuesday. He loved them so much he ask requested 20 more in two alternate colorways for the staff.

After struggling to get my latest Spring group off the ground I'm pleasantly pleased with the initial 2D rendering. Inspired by Keith Haring's mid-80's Graffiti and paintings here is my Shaman Duffel, I wanted to do something tribal but with a Bones Brigades 80's retro skate feel...
We're off to a "toasting" for Ben and Patti's wedding tonight at pasanellaandson.com the wine selection looks delicious!
Have a great evening Friday tomorrow...YES!!!

Byron sent me this photo (Thanks Byron!!!) pulled from the Sandro Sodano section of Art Dept site. It was taken just after leaving college in my mild brush with the world of modeling, for Paul Smiths R. Newbold line. They gave me these brogues and that boiler suit to wear and sprayed down the water and asked if I could splash around in it. So I started doing massive slides with my slippy brogues on...Hahha ha ha!!!
As Bethzaira said I look like I'm about 12 years old wearing "grown-ups" clothing, some things never change eh!

Last week I was interviewed by Benjamen Walker from WNYC, New York's public radio station. He was working on a piece about the recent lawsuit against the Andy Warhol Foundation over a claim by an art collector that they were trying to manipulate the art market by refusing to authenticate some of his "Warhol" collection. Obviously I initially said no to the interview as I did not want to jeopardize our relationship with the AWF but after he explained to me and my boss the piece was more about the design process and how we as a company deal with the constant flood of "knock-offs" of our own products we agreed to do the interview. Anyway the interview took little over 15 mins funnily enough and quoting Andy Warhol:
"In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes."
Here it is, I'm not sure how I feel about the interview but at least my voice sounds better than it does on my voice mail!

Our new TV was delivered on Thursday and this weekend we got connected with cable, phone and internet, yes! It's so cool to have a great TV watch my favorite show(s) Discovery's "Shark Week" just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...Unfortunately my wisdom teeth decided it was well past time for them to come out and proceeded to play havoc with my mouth. Luckily this did not stop me from enjoying the marvelous English breakfast Bethzaira had prepared for us in celebration of our glorious 40" TV!!!
Have a splendid week, I'm having my teeth extracted on Wednesday which I'm sure will be the highlight of the week (NOT).

What a day for traveling the subway, it was really quite horrific, I got into work almost two and half hours after leaving home. This is why I prefer to ride, anyway the movie last night was t'rriffic ju' know what I mean la'. The first half is non-stop nostalgia so many memories can flooding back to me, the second half is more about the darker side of being a "Skin" in the UK at that time and the National Front party, not so rosey...
Here's happy little print I created for our new Disney line. My Mickey totes are in Urban Outfitters at the moment get while stocks last! (http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/jump.jsp?itemType=CATEGORY&itemID=77&iMainCat=77&iSubCat=77)
