NEPTUNOS...

I thought I would bring a little island joy to your winter lives, here's a nice sketch from our recent trip to the Dominican Rep. It's the mini galleon/floating bar at Neptunos the great seafood restaurant in Boca Chica. I love this place, as I told Bethzaira I would have brought my sword if I was still a kid...She said "what do mean still?!"

WINTER WARMER

In preparation for the cold front moving into the NY area tonight I am wearing my parka. It should help keep me nice and warm in the most frigid of conditions although it has made working on the computer quite hard I keep putting my pen in my tea!!!

MUSEU PICASSO

I did manage to get some sketchbook time in on my Barcelona trip. We sneaked in a quick morning in the Gothic Barrio on Friday where we saw the amazing collection of drawings, etchings, masks and paintings in the Museu Picasso. In particular were the early sketches and studies for the Circus paintings and etchings. I loved the simplicity of his line and his fantastic cardboard cut out masks...

DOS DIAZ BARCELONA

Wow what a great city, we had a wicked time at the show and an even better time checking out the city. The Picasso museum, the Goudy architecture aswell as the city amazing Gothic Barrio. I will definitely have to make another trip, no work just play plenty more time to explore and enjoy the local food and wine!

Doomsday Clock

I just read on the BBC new website that we are now 5 mins away from the strike of midnight on the old "Doomsday Day" clock. ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6270871.stm#map ).

I’ve been getting very into my green living of late, after watching Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” and the new Clive Owen movie “Children of Men” it seems like we have a lot of work to do as a civilization to resolve the growing threat of Global warming not to mention the War. We all need to make a conscious effort to make a change to for the better and educate our youth. As my Mum tells me she's been recycling and saving energy long before it was fashionable!!!

Not much to report today, had another pleasant day at work today. We went to the Accessories Circuit show on Pier 94 not much going on there lots of awful jewelry in amongst some cool stuff at least our booth was looking good!

BOMB SITE!

Last night I arrived home to a what could be described as a bomb site in the bathroom! Bethzaira was beside herself with anger, the shower screens were in the front room along with construction tools. We had been told that the decrepid backsplash in the bathroom had been leaking the day before by the buildings super, he had told me that the repairs to the walls and plumbing would be completed by the end of the day yesterday. This was unfortunately not the case, so I had to call the landlords office first thing today and complain. The conversation went no where, we were told that they would try and complete the work today but as they are not “technicians” they could not definitely say!

I hope they have completed the work by the end of the otherwise we will have to wash in the kitchen sink again...

WACOM TO THE FUTURE!!!

To mark the beginning of the new year I have switched from using the dated infra red mouse and starting using the all powerful Wacom tablet with handy pen. So far I have managed to make the transition pretty smoothly, thankfully I haven't trashed any files yet by fiddling with my pen, although I'm not sure what the cat will say with no mouse to chase?!!!
